Marriage

Unbreakable bonds for the glory of Christ

“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31-32 (ESV)

Marriage is the most basic and foundational of human relationships, established by God from the time of creation, before the fall. It is superseded only by the relationship between an individual believer and God. As such, it is the primary relationship and foundation of families and of the church, which is comprised primarily but not exclusively of families. Therefore, for a person who is married, the marriage relationship is of primary importance in one’s Christian living and growth. It is therefore also extremely important in the ministry of the church to its people. The church must encourage, equip, teach, train, shepherd and guard the marriage relationships of its people.

Our vision is for the families of the church to have strong, unbreakable, unyielding to the culture, God-glorifying, soul-satisfying, faith-strengthening, Christ-exalting marriage relationships that display to children, the church, and the world the profound mystery of the relationship between Christ and his church.
