The Means Family/Southpoint PCA Mission Church
In the fall
of 2003, in a small men’s Bible study, in Northwest Atlanta, the Lord began to move
in the hearts of two men. They prayed and dreamed about how God would use them to
share with people the message of love and grace found in Jesus Christ. During that
same time, several families in Henry County were also in search of the Lord’s direction.
These families were praying that God would provide for them a new church in the
area. They began to pray for a church planter who would come to Henry County with
a vision to see a new church started for the glory of God. As the two men and these
particular families prayed, God through his goodness connected them together. In
the winter of 2004 the two men began the process of moving to Henry County to plant
a new church. In the fall of that year, Matthew Means and Josef Roberts, along with
their families, moved to Henry County to begin the work of planting South Point
Church. One year later, we took a significant step in the life of our young church,
by launching our public worship services. In the first year, the Lord called several
other families in Henry County to join this vision and the Lord provided us with
a permanent worship location in the heart of Henry County. In October 2005, South
Point Church launched its public worship along with several other community ministries.
Since then we have been meeting for worship, doing ministry in the community, and
we are seeing God do amazing things. Our prayer is that you would join us as God
continues to write the story of South Point Church for his glory.
